Truc DeCoste
Truc DeCoste joined the Office of the Veteran Advocate as the Southeast Regional Liaison in January 2025, serving as a critical bridge between the OVA and organizations serving veterans at the federal, state, and local levels. In this role, she aids and coordinates with local, state, and federal agencies to ensure that veterans and their families across the Commonwealth receive dignified treatment and access to all available benefits and services
Truc served in the United States Air Force as an Airborne Cryptologic Linguist studying Persian Farsi and Persian Dari in Monterey, CA at the Defense Language Institute. She deployed to Kandahar, Afghanistan from late 2011 to 2012 where she flew over 150 combat sorties on the MC-12W as a Tactical Systems Operator. After separating, she continued her education, graduating from the University of Massachusetts Boston with a B.A. in Criminal Justice. Truc also served over 5-years in the Massachusetts Air National Guard as an Intelligence Analyst.
Prior to joining the OVA, Truc served the veteran community for 5 years at the Home Base program; a national nonprofit dedicated to healing the invisible wounds of war for Veterans, Service Members, and their Families through direct clinical care, wellness, education, and research. As the Director of Outreach and Special Projects, she was tasked with creating and implementing outreach efforts locally and nationally, focusing on the underserved veteran population.
