Walter Brownell joined Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) in April of 2016 and brings with him over 40 years of financial and management experience. Walter has enjoyed careers in both the public and private sectors. On the public side, before coming to DCAMM he served as the Chief Financial Officer (and Deputy) for the Information Technology Division of the Commonwealth where he worked for 15 years. During this time, he oversaw Information Technology investment opportunities, managed the capital spending and oversaw the agencies implementation of a new state accounting system. Prior to this he worked 4 years as a Management Analyst in the Commonwealth’s Department of Transitional Assistance budget office.

Before beginning his public sector career, Walter spent 19 years in the heavy industrial construction area for a construction management firm in its project controls section. While there he measured trade craftsmen productivity, monitored bulk commodity installations and fiscal performance at several coal and nuclear power plants under construction in various locations through the country.

Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance  

DCAMM is responsible for capital planning, public building construction, facilities management, and real estate services for the Commonwealth.
