Procedural order
Effective January 2, 2018, final pre-trail conferences shall continue to be conducted in the trial session to which the case has been assigned, three weeks prior to the week in which the case is scheduled for trial. Trial counsel for the Commonwealth and the defendant shall appear at the final pre-trial conference.
Pre-trial conferences shall be grouped by session, and scheduled for a designated day of the week in order to: (1) ensure that the trial judge is available to conduct the conference; (2) minimize disruption of ongoing trials by providing designated day(s) of each week when trial shall be a half-day session; and (3) attempt to spread the custody volume more evenly throughout the week, for the benefit of the lock-up and other demands on our court officer staff.
The new schedule for final pre-trial conferences by session is as follows:
Guns and Drugs Session | Courtroom 817 | Monday and Wednesday |
Homicide Session | Courtroom 906 | Tuesday and Thursday |
Second Session | Courtroom 806 | Monday |
Third Session | Courtroom 808 | Wednesday |
Fourth Session | Courtroom 815 | Tuesday |
Seventh Session | Courtroom 907 | Thursday |
Assistant Clerks shall kindly organize the session calendars accordingly, with appropriate notice to counsel.
