At the May Seaport Economic Council meeting, Jack Wiggin, Director or Urban Harbors Institute at UMass Boston presented a report on Massachusetts’ seafood industry, “Building the Massachusetts Seafood System: Institutional Strategies and Investments by State Agencies, Fishing Ports and the University of Massachusetts.” The report, which was commissioned by the Seaport Economic Council in August 2016, explores the issues faced by the Commonwealth’s seafood industry, identifies potential opportunities to address market barriers and expand the industry’s reach.
