Common Questions

Q: Is there an application fee?
A: No.

Q: What is the costs associated with the Agricultural tourism signs?
A: A one time fee for installation of each sign from MDOT ($500), and the cost associated with producing two signs is est. $500-$800. Cost directly comes from sign fabricator company (page 21 of application).

Q: Is there a list of all the icons that can be used?
A: Page 22 of the application has the most common icons. There are others. Icons must be an animal or crop.

Q: Is this the program to get on one of those big blue "Attraction" signs in interstate highways?
A: No, those signs were put up as part of special funding that came from Mass. Office of Travel and Tourism (MOTT) in collaboration with the Regional Tourist Councils (RTC's) and MDOT. These signs were erected up on major access highways across the state.  as many businesses as possible. If you would like to included on one of those signs, you need to contact your regional RTC to see if there are options still available, or directly contact your local Massachusetts Department of Transportation District Office.
