On September 25, 2014, DOER awarded $7.4M to municipalities under the Community Clean Energy Resiliency Initiative. The funding will be used for six projects to implement clean energy technologies to improve resiliency at critical facilities. See documents below for the awarded applicants, a brief summary of the projects they are pursuing, and the grant awards made.
DOER awarded thirteen Project Implementation applications for the Community Clean Energy Resiliency Initiative in this round. These applications represented communities across the Commonwealth, with seven coming from the Northeast region, two from the Southeast region, three from the Western region and one from the Central region. Three of these applications were submitted by regional public entities; the Greater Lawrence Sanitary District and the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (two applications), on behalf of the municipalities that they serve. The remaining ten were all from municipalities. Details of the awarded applicants, a brief summary of the projects they are pursuing, and the grant are in document below.
Through the Community Clean Energy Resiliency Initiative, DOER has awarded 27 applicants technical assistance support, at no cost to them, through a consulting team procured by DOER. This team partnership between the Cadmus Group, MCFA and HOMER Energy, will provide expert analysis of potential project sites and critical facilities, and develop recommendations for resilient clean energy solutions. The awarded applicants, a brief summary of the projects they are pursuing, and a list of the critical facilities supported through the projects in summary below. This zip folder (file size 22MB) will enable you to download any of the 27 technical assistance reports that resulted from this analysis.
