Overview

This program seeks to protect large blocks of conservation land. Local, state, and federal government agencies and non-profit groups can use this grant to work together to protect properties that meet the minimum acreage required based on County.

Grant Bid Posting Date: Wednesday, January 24, 2024

Application Deadline: 3:00pm on Thursday, April 18, 2024

Maximum Award: $1,250,000
Reimbursement Rate: 50%

Additional Info: An in-person information session will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, February 26, 2024 at the DFW Headquarters in Westborough.  A virtual information session will be offered at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 28 for those unable to attend the in-person session.  Please email [e-mail] to register for either information session not later than Friday, February 23, 2024.

Eligibility

Eligible projects include:

• Purchase of land in fee simple for conservation, forestry, agriculture, or water supply protection
• Purchase of a Conservation Restriction
• Purchase of an Agricultural Preservation Restriction
• Purchase of a Watershed Preservation Restriction

Applications must be submitted jointly by two or more of the following groups:

• Municipality
• Non-profit, non-municipal public water supplier
• Non-profit 501(c)(3) organization
• Government agency
