Learn about the Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness (HMEP) Grant

Pending the availability of funds, MEMA - through an annual sub-grant application process - makes HMEP funding available to all Massachusetts SERC-certified EPCs

This is a reimbursement-based grant program with a goal to assist local and regional Emergency Planning Committees (EPC) in preparing for hazardous materials transportation hazards and to obtain the resources needed to support the U.S. EPA's Emergency Planning and Community Right to Know Act (EPCRA). HMEP funds may be used towards hazardous materials planning, training, and exercise activities. Additional information about the grant program and application process may be found in MEMA's Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO), which is provided below when the sub-grant program is open.
