National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN)

The National Child Traumatic Stress Network was established to improve access to care, treatment, and services for traumatized children and adolescents exposed to traumatic events. Established by Congress in 2000, the National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN) brings a singular and comprehensive focus to childhood trauma. NCTSN’s collaboration of frontline providers, researchers, and families is committed to raising the standard of care while increasing access to services. Combining knowledge of child development, expertise in the full range of child traumatic experiences, and dedication to evidence-based practices, the NCTSN changes the course of children’s lives by changing the course of their care. Fathers Uplift Inc - Resources for young men, boys, and families in Metro Boston

The following resources are provided by Fathers Uplift whose programs and therapeutic interventions support fathers in overcoming barriers so they can be positively and sustainably engaged in their children’s lives.

The Youth Group: A Village that Builds Men of Character, aims to provide positive support and unconditional regard to boys and young men between the ages of 5 and 17. More Information

The Ladies Lounge: 12 one hour group sessions designed by women for women to address the various stressors and daily challenges specific to women. Participants will learn how to overcome these life challenges by developing healthy coping strategies. More Information

The Spirituality and Mindfulness Group: focuses on encouraging participants in identifying their own spiritual beliefs, creating meaning out of the unpredictability of life, and learning to be fully present with one’s thoughts, feelings, and emotions. More Information

The Re-entry Group: Thriving Without No Limit will focus on accessing community resources, practicing self-care, and exploring attitudes and beliefs about Masculinity, Crime and Violence. More Information

Faith & Restoration: Faith is defined as the complete trust in something or someone. In this 14 week group, Charles will engage participants in a journey of understanding how to utilize faith to move the mountains in their life. More Information

A Different Kind of Hurt: Isaac's Story

An Animated Film & Graphic Novel for Elementary and Middle School-Aged Children. Isaac’s Story is a wonderful jumping-off point for conversations about the power of friendship, the pain of stigma, and the importance of paying attention to and encouraging all youth who are wounded somehow to find their strength, rely on friends, family and helpers, hang on to their dreams, and to live a life with joy and meaning.
