Deer hunting reminders
Archery Extension: A regulatory amendment has been approved to extend the archery deer hunting season by 2 weeks in eastern MA (Zones 10–14). Read more.
Antlerless Deer Permits: If you applied for an ADP by the July 16th deadline, you still have to check to see if you were awarded a permit.
Surplus antlerless deer permits are still available for zones 13 and 14. All other zones are sold out.
Applications for the Quabbin deer hunt must be completed online between July 1 and August 31. Get details.
- Wachusett Hunting: DCR recently opened 7,500 acres of land to hunting in the Wachusett Reservoir Watershed. There are two free permit types available. *You must apply by 8/31 for the Controlled Deer Hunt.
- If you hunt deer outside of Massachusetts please note: It is illegal to import deer parts from states or provinces where Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) has been detected. Get more information about CWD.
