The Veterans’ Home in Chelsea, located at 91 Crest Avenue, Chelsea, MA, has been in continuous operation since the end of the Civil War. A new 154-bed long-term care Community Living Center is currently under construction to replace the existing Quigley Hospital building. The remainder of the Veteran’s Home in Chelsea, the Domiciliary Campus, consists of nine buildings which together house approximately 150 Veterans in single room occupancy accommodations, with shared dining and services. The Domiciliary Campus Redevelopment project contemplates leasing up to 8.7 acres of land on the campus for modernized Veterans preference housing and services. The phased redevelopment project will update the campus through a combination of rehabilitation and new construction to better meet the residential and services needs of today’s Veterans and their families now and in the future.
