If you’re receiving unemployment insurance and need new skills to get back to work, you can apply for the Training Opportunities Program (TOP). Through TOP, you can enroll in full-time, approved training programs without losing your benefits.
When you participate in TOP, you can:
Waive the active work search requirement while attending full-time training
Keep receiving unemployment benefits during your training
Get up to 26 additional weeks of benefits if your training goes beyond your original claim
