Unidos Mission Statement

To identify and close the hierarchy gap at DTA to ensure Hispanic and Latinx representation at all levels in the agency, with the goal of having a workforce and leadership team that reflects the diversity of the population it serves, who can advance cultural competency within the agency and aid addressing cultural barriers to participation.

Unidos Aims to:

  • Develop a community and support network that nurtures Hispanic and Latinx staff as a visible and vibrant part of DTA.
  • Support the professional and personal growth of DTA Hispanic and Latinx staff.
  • Amplify the voice of the Hispanic and Latinx community within DTA and externally.
  • Work to address cultural barriers and misinformation that impede access to benefits by being a noticeable presence in the community and changing the narrative.
  • Promote an unbiased delivery of services and fulfillment of DTA’s vision and mission by expanding agency-wide cultural competency through the sharing of knowledge with all staff about the challenges faced, and cultural differences of the Hispanic and Latinx community.
  • Maintain a positive work environment for Hispanic and Latinx staff.

Unidos Subcommittees

Professional Development

Plans and delivers training sessions, workshops, and seminars focused on skills development, leadership, and career advancement.  Organizes talks and panel discussions to inspire and educate members.

Outreach & Community Events

Organizes a variety of events such as social gatherings, volunteer activities, and cultural celebrations to engage members and foster a sense of community.  

Branding & Marketing

Develops and maintains the ERG's brand identity, ensuring consistency across all communications and materials.  Works collaboratively with other subcommittees to design marketing campaigns to raise awareness of the ERG's mission, events, and initiatives. 

Membership

Develops and implements strategies to attract new members to the ERG.  Creates materials to welcome new members, inform them about the ERG's mission, and help them integrate into the group.  Organizes activities such as networking events in collaboration with other subcommittees.
