Massachusetts Registered Apprenticeship Sponsor Portal
As a sponsor, you are responsible for registering and monitoring program and apprentice information in the Massachusetts Registered Apprenticeship Sponsor Portal. This includes:
- Registering a new apprenticeship program
- Updating apprentice status for changes such as completion, suspension, or termination
- Updating apprentice related instruction (RI) and on-the-job learning (OJL) completions
Registered Apprenticeship tax credits
The RATC provides a state tax credit worth 50% of an apprentice’s wages in a taxable year, up to $4,800 per apprentice. Employers can claim up to $100,000 in total credits per year if eligible.
Apprentice ID cards
Registered Apprenticeship sponsors are required to renew their apprentices’ ID cards each year with the Division of Apprentice Standards (DAS). Apprentices must carry their ID card at all times while working during their apprenticeship.
