The Massachusetts Division of Apprentice Standards is a State Apprenticeship Agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Labor. We are responsible for supporting, promoting, developing, and servicing Massachusetts Registered Apprenticeship Programs on behalf of the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development. Funding Opportunities

We offer both annual funding opportunities and industry-specific grants to help Registered Apprenticeship Programs remain successful in Massachusetts.
Registered Apprenticeship Tax Credit
Employers who hire registered apprentices may qualify for tax credits of up to $4,800 or 50% of the apprentice's wages, whichever amount is lower, for each apprentice who meets the requirements of the Registered Apprenticeship Tax Credit. Employers can receive up to $100,000 in credits per calendar year. View the list of eligible industries here.
GROW Apprenticeship Grants
Grants for Registered Apprenticeship Opportunities in Workforce ("GROW") help you access talent and expand your team. Apply for support in:

Quarterly Apprentice Jobs Report

For the inaugural quarterly report, the largest number of apprentice jobs were created in electrical and clean energy apprenticeships, followed by health care, refrigeration/HVAC, and plumbing; early education is also a growing apprenticeship role. In total, 781 new apprentices were registered from January to April 2025.
