Box Tree Moth

This invasive moth attacks boxwood shrubs.

Box tree moth (Cydalima perspectalis) is an invasive pest that was first found in the Northeastern United States in 2021. In the summer of 2023 this moth was discovered in several towns in Barnstable County, Massachusetts, and was then found in Plymouth in 2024, and in Brookline in 2025. The caterpillars of this moth eat the leaves of boxwood shrubs, killing them if left unchecked.
