Box tree moth (Cydalima perspectalis) is an invasive pest that was first found in the Northeastern United States in 2021. In the summer of 2023 this moth was also discovered in Barnstable County, Massachusetts. The caterpillars of this moth eat the leaves of boxwood shrubs, killing them if left unchecked.
