Starter Homes Program - Chapter 40Y  

Chapter 40Y provides communities with a zoning tool to meet local needs for smaller, more affordable, starter homes.

Subsidized Housing Inventory (SHI)  

is used to measure a community's stock of low-or moderate-income housing for the purposes of M.G.L. Chapter 40B, the Comprehensive Permit Law.

Urban Center Housing Tax Increment Financing (UCH-TIF)  

This program authorizes cities and towns to promote housing and commercial development, including affordable housing, in commercial centers through tax increment financing.

Urban Redevelopment Corporations (URC)  

This program takes on residential, commercial, civic, recreational, historic or industrial projects in areas which are considered to be decadent, substandard or blighted open space.

Urban Renewal (UR)  

EOHLC’s Livable Communities Division administers the urban renewal program, including assisting municipalities which are establishing urban renewal agencies, and providing technical assistance to prepare and implement Urban Renewal Plans.
