Adaptive Sports New England: Blind Sports Day
Overview
Blind Sports Day will be a wonderful, low-pressure environment where youth and adults who are blind or visually impaired can meet others with similar vision or blindness who share their interest in fitness, recreation, or competition. Athletes at all levels of competitiveness are welcome. Come try Goal Ball, Beep Ball and more.
Adaptive Sports New England will work with participating novice and experienced athletes to find local ongoing programs and/or to create new opportunities where we identify sufficient demand.
Boston College High School (BC High) has state of the art athletic facilities in a central location with easy access to I-93. The nearby MBTA JFK/UMass station is served by both the Ashmont and Braintree Red Line branches as well as the Greenbush, Fall River/New Bedford, and Kingston Commuter Rail lines. Sighted guide escorts from JFK/UMass station can be arranged for the 10-minute walk to BC High.
Athletes ages 7 and up who are able to follow coach instruction and participate in a group setting are welcome to join. Pre-registration is required so that we can create the best environment possible.
