Public Hearing Notice  Chelsea - Washington Ave, Carter St & County Rd/Route 1 bridge replacement

What is happening?

This Virtual Design Public Hearing is being conducted to allow the public to become aware of the Chelsea Bridge Replacement project (MassDOT Project #608952). MassDOT and Design Consultants will present the current design plans, anticipated construction schedule and general construction impacts. All views and comments submitted in response to the hearing will be reviewed and considered to the maximum extent possible.

How will this affect you?

Due to poor condition of the existing bridge deck of bridge C-09-013, the superstructure of the bridge will be replaced. Additionally, the intersection on the bridge between Washington Avenue Carter Street and County Road will be realigned to improve traffic flow. As part of the construction, Washington Ave. is not anticipated to be fully closed but will be limited to one travel lane throughout parts of construction.

To ensure its meetings are accessible, MassDOT reasonably provides: translation, interpretation, modifications, accommodations, alternative formats, and auxiliary aids and services.
