Congressman McGovern to Attend eSKI Launch
Overview
One June 27th, eSKI, the electric Jet Ski start-up based in Worcester, will unveil its first-generation prototype conversion with special guest U.S. Congressman James McGovern. The event will take place at the Lake Quinsigamond Corazzini Boat Ramp in Shrewsbury (251 North Quinsigamond Avenue) from 9:30 am to 11:30 am.
The project is the brain-child of 2021 Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) mechanical engineering graduate, Jack Duffy-Protentis. Jack was one of the first blind mechanical engineer graduates of WPI and fine-tuned his passion for innovation and invention at WPI.
The watercraft will be driven by a 320 hp electric motor and supplied with power by 20 KWH, 400V lithium-ion batteries. The development of this electric personal watercraft has already resulted in the filing of three U.S. patents, two of which are already approved. eSKI created buzz at the Miami International Boat Show, the Newport International Boat Show, and the Annapolis Powerboat Show. eSKI has already received more than $500,000 in start-up funding and $300,000 in pre-orders.
Please join special guest, Congressman McGovern, Worcester and Shrewsbury municipal leaders, representatives from WPI, and the eSKI team for the unveiling of this important technology for the future of Worcester and our warming planet.
