Division of Insurance Information Sessions on 211 CMR 52: Managed Care Consumer Protections and Accreditation of Carriers

The Division of Insurance has filed the final revisions to 211 CMR 52.00 with the Secretary of State. This regulation includes changes to the prior authorization processes that apply to insured products that are issued and renewed in Massachusetts. The noted regulation is anticipated to be promulgated according to the Secretary of State’s Massachusetts Register publication schedule on Friday, June 5, 2026, and effective upon that date.

The DOI has scheduled a series of information sessions to go over the regulatory changes, listen to comments from interested parties, and consider whether additional DOI guidance materials would support understanding and implementation of these changes.
