Response: Yes, 110.26(c)(3) is not applicable.
The above response was not approved by the BFPR. Question #2 is to be reviewed again by the Committee.
Question #2 An electrical room contains multiple pieces of equipment, each rated less than 800 amperes. The room additionally contains a 2,500-ampere bus duct riser, with multiple plug-in disconnects, each rated less than 800 amperes. The room entrance/egress door is located within 25-feet of the nearest edge of the equipment working space. As all equipment in the room is less than 800-amperes and the plug-in disconnects on the bus duct are each rated less than 800-amperes does 527 CMR 12, 110.26(c)(3) permit the entrance/egress door to swing into the room, without panic (fire exit hardware)?

Question 1# Is Busway/busduct with multiple plug openings for disconnecting means/devices considered to be electrical equipment according to the definition in article 100 Equipment?
Question #2 If Busway/busduct is electrical equipment as article 100 states and is rated at 2500amps with 2-400amp disconnects and is located in an electrical room would the personnel doors need to open in the direction of egress with listed fire exit hardware.
