      1. 527 CMR 12.00, 710.15(A) & 702.4(A)(2)(a) submitted by Paul McGrath received November 16, 2025.

        Question #1:

        Are stationary, fixed-in-place, Battery Energy Storage Systems located in a single-family dwelling allowed to be sized in accordance with NEC 710.15(A)?

        Question #2:

        Are stationary, fixed-in-place, Battery Energy Storage Systems located in a single-family dwelling required to be sized for the full calculated load as outlined in NEC 702.4(A)(2)(a)?

        Question #3:

        Are stationary, fixed-in-place, Battery Energy Storage Systems required to be sized and evaluated under NEC Articles 705, 706, and 710, and not under NEC Article 702 (Optional Standby Systems)?

      2. 527 CMR 12.00, 210.12(E) submitted by Sean Conroy received December 20, 2025.

        Question #1:

        Is the purpose 210.12(E) to require AFCI protection to be added if replacing a bathroom fan?

        Question #2:

        Is the purpose 210.12(E) to require AFCI protection to be added if replacing a receptacle outlet?

        Question #3:

        Is the purpose 210.12(E) to require AFCI protection to be added if replacing a light fixture?

        Question #1:

        What does the NEC define as a new kitchen or a kitchen remodel that would require the kitchen electrical to be updated to the current standards?

        Question #2:

        Is a 2 car garage that is fed from a separate services and separated by a fire wall required to have 2 emergency disconnects grouped together?

      4. 527 CMR 12.00, 230.85 Exception #2, submitted by Thomas Colligan received January 5, 2026.

        Can the line voltage control wiring share the same “raceway” with the service lateral or service conductors?

      5. 527 CMR 12.00, 210.63, resubmission by Justin Huber received January 9, 2026.

        Question #1:

        In a single family dwelling does a GFCI protected outlet that is located inside the dwelling, on the same level as the exterior equipment, and within twenty five (25) feet satisfy the service outlet required?

        Question #2:

        In a multi family dwelling does a GFCI protected outlet that is located inside the dwelling, on the same level as the exterior equipment, and within twenty five (25) feet satisfy the service outlet required?
