Embodied Carbon Intergovernmental Coordinating Council Public Hearing #1

The hearing will begin with a presentation from the Council Co-Chairs, Commissioner Adam Baacke of the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) and Climate Chief Melissa Hoffer of the Office of Climate Innovation and Resilience (OCIR). Then the floor will open for the audience to provide input and feedback on the topics which the Council is charged with reviewing. Specifically, the Council will seek feedback on the possibility of requiring Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for state procurement of certain materials, setting guidance for Global Warming Potential (GWP) limits, encouraging building deconstruction and re-use, and avenues for incorporating Embodied Carbon into building codes, among other topics.
