Public Meeting Notice Fall River Public Meeting on 2050 Roadmap: Building Solutions to Address Climate Change in the Commonwealth
Overview of Fall River Public Meeting on 2050 Roadmap: Building Solutions to Address Climate Change in the Commonwealth
Please join the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs for a series of public meetings on the Commonwealth’s planning efforts to address climate change and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Guided by the 2008 Global Warming Solutions Act, Massachusetts is currently studying how to achieve the ambitious climate goal of net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. These meetings will be an opportunity to learn about the state’s research effort as well as to provide feedback on the state’s 2050 emissions limit and the implementation plans to achieve it.
This event is FREE, family friendly, and open to the public! Participants are encouraged to carpool or take public transportation as much as possible. The registration link is optional, but those who register in advance will get alerts and reminders about the event.
This event is part of a series of Public Meetings throughout the state in March, 2020. More information is here: https://www.mass.gov/2050Roadmap.
The format for the meeting will be split into two parts. First will be a presentation by State staff on the State’s efforts in climate change mitigation, the draft 2050 greenhouse gas emissions limit, and the 2050 Roadmap study. The second portion of the meeting will be public comments from participants. We plan to record the audio from the meeting which will be posted online after the fact, but additional comments and feedback about the study can be directed to www.mass.gov/2050Roadmap.
