Public Meeting Notice Leo M. Birmingham Park 25% Design Development Public Meeting 7/23/2026
Overview
The Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) is holding a second public meeting to present progress on the Leo M. Birmingham Park Design project located in Brighton, MA. The goals of this meeting are to present the 25% Schematic Design plans and to solicit input from the community to inform the next phases of the design process. The plans being presented in this meeting reflect the feedback received from the first public meeting held on December 4, 2025. DCR’s vision for the park includes a universally accessible passive park with trails, seating areas with game tables, bocce courts, signage, and nature-based storm water management while highlighting desirable views.
The public will be invited to provide comments during the meeting, after the presentation, by unmuting their microphones, or the chat functionality that will be available through the virtual participation platform. After the meeting, the presentation will be available for viewing on DCR’s Past events for DCR Public Meetings Information web page. DCR encourages the public to share additional feedback, with a deadline for receipt of comments by DCR of August 6th, 2026. Comments may be submitted via the DCR public comment portal. Please note that the content of comments you submit to DCR, along with your name, town, and zip code, will be posted on DCR's website. Additional contact information required when commenting, notably email address, will only be used for outreach on future updates on the subject project or property.
