On behalf of Massachusetts Commission for the Blind (MCB), the MCB Region 3 (Northeast) Team and Regional Advisory Council (RAC) proudly present the first “Virtual Open House” on December 3, 2020 from 10 AM- 1:00 PM ET to recognize International Day of People with Disabilities (IDPwD) and the year of the 30th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The Virtual Open House will focus on “Resilience During the 2020 Pandemic” in the disability community, specifically for individuals who are legally blind and visually impaired.
The purpose of the Virtual Open House is to increase public awareness and acceptance of individuals with disabilities but also showcase MCB’s ability to surpass its 114 years of providing uninterrupted quality services to an estimated 26,000 individuals who are blind and visually impaired in the Commonwealth while working remotely due to COVID-19. In addition, the Virtual Open House is an opportunity for regional staff to celebrate resiliency together with community partners and the people they serve.
If you need a reasonable accommodation, please submit your request by November 19, 2020 to Kamilia Drogosz, MCB ADA Coordinator, by email at kamilia.drogosz@mass.gov or by phone at 617-279-3332. Requests made after November 19th will be considered but may not be possible to fill. Please inform Kamilia if you will need American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters and/or Communication Access Real Time Transcription (CART) services at the event.
