MFA Descriptive Tour on Zoom

Saturday, March 16, 2024
3 p.m. - 4:15 p.m.

Overview

For the March descriptive tour, the Museum of Fine Arts (MFA) will begin a two-part exploration of Korean culture. Over the past century, Korea has become a cultural superpower with chart topping music by K-pop groups and award-winning films, such as Parasite. The MFA will celebrate this in the upcoming exhibition Hallyu! The Korean Wave. These creative outputs are deeply rooted in the past, with many contemporary artists, filmmakers, musicians, and fashion designers paying tribute to traditional values and art forms dating back to Korea’s dynastic kingdom days. For March, the MFA will explore a 2000-year history of Korean art through ceramics, religious icons, jewelry, and other objects in the MFA collection. Then, in April, the MFA will come right up to date and explore contemporary Korean culture, Hallyu! The Korean Wave
