MFA Descriptive Tour on Zoom
Overview
For the December descriptive tour, the Museum of Fine Arts (MFA) will explore the splendor of Judaica, items made for Jewish ritual experience, at home and in the synagogue. Treasures of all kinds will be viewed: metalwork, paintings, and earthenware. Created across the centuries, they originate from Asia, North Africa, Europe, and the United States, including work with Boston roots. Though their meaning and use have always been intrinsically Jewish, their styles and techniques vary greatly, reflecting the artistic language of their surrounding cultures.
If possible, to fully immerse in the experience, the MFA encourages attendees to have a bottle of their favorite sweet, earthy smelling spice (cinnamon or nutmeg, for example) with them for the tour.
The tour will be held on Zoom. The MFA is trying a new registration process and are asking attendees to register directly with Zoom. They will then receive the link for the tour.
