MFA Descriptive Tour on Zoom

For the February descriptive tour, to honor Black History month the Museum of Fine Arts (MFA) will explore the photography exhibition Comrade Sisters: Women of the Black Panther Party. This exhibition brings together photographs by Stephen Shames, the Party’s official photographer and gives recognition to the women, or “comrade sisters,” who comprised more than 65-percent of the Party’s membership. The photos document the efforts the Party’s women undertook at community schools, free medical clinics, voter registration sites, and community aide programs across the United States. The MFA hopes you can join them in exploring some of the photos from the exhibition and the stories behind them.
