MFA Descriptive Tour on Zoom

Saturday, April 20, 2024
3 p.m. - 4:15 p.m.

Overview

This month, the Museum of Fine Arts (MFA) will dive into its critically acclaimed exhibit, Hallyu! The Korean Wave for the second part of its exploration of 2000 years of Korean art, culture, and history. The word "Hallyu" refers to the surge of popular culture from South Korea that has swept the globe in the 21st century. These creative outputs are deeply rooted in Korea’s past with many contemporary artists, filmmakers, musicians, and fashion designers paying tribute to traditional values and art forms dating back to Korea’s dynastic kingdom days. The museum will explore modern day Korean painting, needlework, fashion, music (K-pop), and film, as well as artworks reflecting the Korean American experience.
