Overview
The Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) is presenting the 25% design development progress for the Natural Bridge State Park Site Improvements project. The presentation will provide an overview of proposed improvements designed to preserve the park’s unique natural, cultural, and industrial history while enhancing visitor safety and accessibility. Attendees will learn about Phase 1 efforts focused on cultural resource preservation, including stabilization of the historic penstock and safety improvements at the former mill site, as well as Phase 2 site improvements featuring improved parking and visitor center arrival areas, expanded universal access, and a reimagined chasm viewing experience with new accessible overlooks of the white marble dam, Hudson Brook, the natural bridge and historic quarry features. Natural Bridge State Park is in the city of North Adams.
The public will be invited to provide comments during the meeting, after the presentation, by unmuting their microphones, or the chat functionality that will be available through the virtual participation platform. After the meeting, the presentation will be available for viewing on DCR’s Past events for DCR Public Meetings Information web page.
