Public Hearing Notice  New Bedford – I-195/Route 18 Interchange Rehabilitation

A live virtual Public Information Meeting will be held via Zoom to discuss the New Bedford I-195/Route 18 Interchange Rehabilitation Project.

Purpose: 

The purpose of this meeting is to provide the public with the opportunity to become fully acquainted with the project’s upcoming shifts to phases 3 and 4. All views and comments submitted in response to the meeting will be reviewed and considered to the maximum extent possible.

Proposal: 

Beginning December of 2026, the ramp from I-195 east to Route 18 south (Exit 26) will be closed through the spring of 2029. During the closure, a signed detour will be in place. The closure will allow traffic to shift over to the new I-195 westbound bridge. The existing I-195 eastbound bridge will be demolished, and then construction of the new bridge will begin.

This meeting is accessible to people with disabilities.
