Public Meeting Notice Northern Strand Wayside Conceptual Design Public Meeting 3/19/2024
Overview of Northern Strand Wayside Conceptual Design Public Meeting 3/19/2024
The Northern Strand Trail is over 10 miles and connects the cities of Everett, Malden, Revere, Lynn, and Saugus. The site identified for improvements is approximately eight (8) acres and is rich with ecological, wildlife, and migratory habitat opportunities. DCR’s vision for the Northern Strand Wayside project is to enhance this ecologically sensitive landscape as we create a universally accessible and sustainable outdoor destination along the Saugus River. The new parkland is expected to serve both as a safe and welcoming passive park as well as a wayside on the Northern Strand Trail for users to stop, rest, and explore the site. The primary goals of this public meeting is to introduce the project and solicit input from the community to inform the design process.
The public will be invited to ask questions and provide feedback on the presentation, using the Q&A functionality that will be available through the virtual participation platform. After the meeting, the presentation will be available for viewing at https://www.mass.gov/dcr/past-public-meetings. DCR encourages the public to share additional feedback, with a deadline for receipt of comments by DCR of April 9th, 2024. Comments may be submitted online at http://www.mass.gov/dcr/public- comment. Please note that the content of comments you submit to DCR, along with your name, town, and zip code, will be posted on DCR's website. Additional contact information required when commenting, notably email address, will only be used for outreach on future updates on the subject project or property.
