Polus Center: Blind in the Baystate new documentary film screening
Overview
Blind in the Baystate highlights the stories of a diverse group of legally blind people, exploring the impact that technology, disability legislation and availability of services have had on people’s success and on public perceptions of blindness and disability. It was created by blind and low vision employees and interns from the Polus Center (including co-producers Josh Pearson and Katie Crocker) along with Director/Editor Victoria Leger. The film is intended for all audiences: people who are currently sighted, people losing their vision or supporting family members who are, and for people who are blind or low vision themselves.
This project was made possible with funding from Mass Humanities, which receives support from the Mass Cultural Council and the National Endowment for the Humanities. The public screening is supported in part by a grant from the Quincy Cultural Council, a local agency supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
Light refreshments will be served. Please RSVP to Polus Center Executive Director Theresa Kane, tkane@poluscenter.org, 978-270-2457. www.poluscenter.org. Free admission.
