Overview

The Department will be conducting an in-person public hearing to receive comments on the petition from Liberty Utilities   for an increase in gas base distribution rates. Additional information regarding Liberty’s proposal and bill impacts for different service areas may be found below. The proposed rates are suspended while the Department conducts its review of Liberty Utilities’ petition.   

The Department will hold four public hearings, listed below, to receive comments on the Company’s filing. 

The first public hearing will take place on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at North Attleboro High School auditorium, 1 Wilson Whitty Way, North Attleboro, Massachusetts 02760. The hearing will be conducted in English and Spanish. To request interpretation and/or translation in an additional language, please email Kaylee Burgess at dpu.ej@mass.gov by Monday, September 15, 2025. If you anticipate providing comments at the public hearing, please send an email by Monday, September 15, 2025, to dpu2585.libertyratecase@mass.gov with your name, email, and mailing address. If you anticipate commenting by telephone, please leave a voicemail at 1-617-305-3729 with your name, phone number, and mailing address. 

Any person interested in commenting on this matter may submit written comments no later than the close of business (5:00 p.m.) on Wednesday, October 8, 2025. As such, consider the extent of information you wish to share when submitting comments. The Department strongly encourages public comments to be submitted by email.
