Public Hearing Notice Public Hearing on Eversource CIPs (DPU 25-30/81/82/83)
Overview
The Department is conducting a virtual public hearing to receive comments on Eversource’s proposals for capital investment projects (CIPs) in the Southwick-Granville, New Bedford, Dalton-Hinsdale, and Gill-Montague areas. The purpose of these proposals is to upgrade the electric power system to create more timely and cost-effective development and interconnection of distributed generation facilities (e.g. solar and energy storage). For more information about the proposals for each area, please see the Notices below.
The public hearing will take place on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. For audio-only access to the hearings, attendees can dial-in at 301-715-8592 (not toll free) and then enter the Meeting ID# 854 4140 2397. If you anticipate providing comments over Zoom, please send an email by Wednesday, September 3, 2025, to Annemarie.belle@mass.gov, Kristen.lommele@mass.gov, and Katherine.e.stock@mass.gov with your name, email, and mailing address.
Due to the location of Environmental Justice Populations in the geographical area of the New Bedford CIP, DPU 25-81, interpretation will be available in Spanish, Portuguese, and Haitian Creole throughout the hearing. Interpretation in additional languages is available upon request. Translation of the Notice for DPU 25-30, 25-82, and 25-83 is also available upon request. To request translation or interpretation please send an email to dpu.ej@mass.gov by Wednesday, September 3, 2025.
Any person interested in commenting on the dockets DPU 25-30, DPU 25-81, DPU 25-82, or DPU 25-83 may submit written comments no later than the close of business (5:00 p.m.) on Wednesday, September 10, 2025. Written comments from the public may be sent by email to dpu.efiling@mass.gov, Annemarie.belle@mass.gov, Kristen.lommele@mass.gov, Katherine.e.stock@mass.gov, and to Eversource’s attorneys at jhabib@keeganwerlin.com, mhershberg@keeganwerlin.com, and amarton@keeganwerlin.com. Please note that in the interest of transparency any comments will be posted to our website as received and without redacting personal information, such as addresses, telephone numbers, or email addresses. As such, consider the extent of information you wish to share when submitting comments. The Department strongly encourages public comments to be submitted by email. If, however, a member of the public is unable to send written comments by email, a paper copy may be sent to Mark D. Marini, Secretary, Department of Public Utilities, One South Station, Boston, Massachusetts, 02110.
