Public Hearing Notice Public Hearing on Long-Term System Planning Process (DPU 25-20)
Overview
The Department is conducting a virtual public hearing to receive comments on the joint Long-Term System Planning Process (LTSPP) proposal from Eversource, National Grid, and Unitil. Per the filing, the intent of the LTSPP proposal is to identify a process to safely and reliably facilitate the efficient and cost-effective interconnection of Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) to support the state’s energy and climate goals while taking into consideration the potential impact of long-term electrification load.
The public hearing will take place on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. and will be followed immediately by an informal, informational session to allow LTSPP working group stakeholders the opportunity to provide context and allow the Department to ask basic questions. For audio-only access to the hearings, attendees can dial-in at 646-558-8656 (not toll free) and then enter the Meeting ID# 872 0513 8686. If you anticipate providing comments over Zoom, please send an email by Friday, June 27, 2025, to katherine.e.stock@mass.gov, annemarie.belle@mass.gov, and kristen.lommele@mass.gov with your name, email, and mailing address.
Any person interested in commenting on this matter may submit written comments no later than the close of business (5:00 p.m.) on Tuesday, July 1, 2025. Written comments from the public may be sent by email to dpu.efiling@mass.gov, katherine.e.stock@mass.gov, annemarie.belle@mass.gov, and kristen.lommele@mass.gov and the Distribution Companies’ attorneys at taylorp@unitil.com, nancy.israel@nationalgrid.com, and jhabib@keeganwerlin.com. Please note that in the interest of transparency any comments will be posted to our website as received and without redacting personal information, such as addresses, telephone numbers, or email addresses. As such, consider the extent of information you wish to share when submitting comments. The Department strongly encourages public comments to be submitted by email. If, however, a member of the public is unable to send written comments by email, a paper copy may be sent to Mark D. Marini, Secretary, Department of Public Utilities, One South Station, Boston, Massachusetts, 02110.
