REBA: Advantages of Summary Bench Trials Under Land Court Rule 14
Overview
Please join the REBA Litigation Section for a webinar at 12 noon on Friday, February 13th. Land Court Associate Justices Lauren E. Reznick and Robert B. Foster, together with REBA Litigation Section Co-Chair Matt Furman, will present.
Our panelists will cover the procedures available under Land Court Rule 14, to “make speedy and efficient the decision of matters tried” in the Court, whereby the litigants waive written findings of fact and legal conclusions and, instead, prepare a ‘verdict’ form of special questions for the Court to decide. Through Rule 14, litigants can obtain speedy decisions after trial of their case (usually less than a week). The discussion will also focus on the mechanics of invoking Rule 14, how it impacts the trial and appeal rights, and what types of cases are best suited for the summary bench trial process.
This webinar, which is open to all REBA members, is from 12 to 1 p.m. on Friday, February 13, 2026.
To register, please RSVP to Matt Zarrella at zarrella@reba.net.
We will send the Zoom link to you the morning of the webinar.
