Overview of Trail Maintenance at Quabbin Park
Calling all volunteers!
DCR is looking for some help to cut back vegetation and overgrowth along the Old Stone Trail in Quabbin Park. The trail is just under two miles long and the number of volunteers we get will determine how much we can clear. Hand tools will be used for the trail clearing. DCR will provide loppers and hand clippers for cutting purposes. No experience is required, just elbow grease and persistence. Please dress appropriately for the weather and bring water, a pair of gloves, and snacks.
Attendees should enter Quabbin Park by the east gate entrance located on Rt. 9 in Ware. We will meet at the northern Old Stone Trail trailhead, which is located 1.3 miles down the road on the left side. There is no parking lot at this location. Please park off the side of the road on the grass and do not block the gate.
A reminder that dogs are not allowed anywhere at Quabbin.
