Parking at Ware River Rail Trail, 300 Granger Rd Barre, MA, then carpooling to starting point.
There are many old bridge sites in the Ware River watershed. Most no longer have the actual bridges, but you can still see the shape of the land that supported the bridge, and often also stonework from the bridge abutments. This walk will begin at one such site and travel to another, both on the beautiful Burnshirt River. The hike passes the historic Riverside Cemetery. Please bring water, wear appropriate footwear and be prepared for ticks.
