Overview

MDAR works with growers, seafood and food businesses to develop international markets through exporter education including technical assistance, market entry programs and market promotion.  MDAR coordinates market research and promotion through In Country Marketing Representatives in 18 counties and an extensive group of agricultural trade officers overseas. Offerings include the “Branded Program” which allows producers to offsets 50 % of eligible promotional costs for export market development. 

Export food and agricultural products

MDAR works with growers, seafood and food businesses to develop international Business through exporter education including technical assistance, market entry programs and market promotion.  MDAR coordinates market research and promotion efforts through In Country Marketing Representatives in 18 counties and an extensive group of agricultural trade officers overseas.

Exporter education includes technical support and resources to learn the steps of exporting.  Market entry programs include Buyers Missions, On-site support at international trade events, Focused Trade Missions and Competitive Market research.  Market Promotion includes the Branded Program, which allows producers to offset 50 percent of eligible promotional costs for export market development. 

MDAR accesses USDA Foreign Agriculture Service (FAS) funds through membership with Food Export USA Northeast, a USDA “cooperator,” for program, services and cost share to support export market development for Massachusetts businesses.  Since this program is supported by the USDA Farm Bill, products must be 50% US grown or harvested.
