Habitat Restoration Resources

Find the tools you need to restore and manage Massachusetts habitats for biodiversity and climate resilience.

Massachusetts supports a wide variety of habitats which are home to a rich collection of plants and wildlife, including over 600 Species of Greatest Conservation Need identified in the State Wildlife Action Plan. Land protection is essential, but protection alone is not enough to conserve the biodiversity of the Commonwealth. In today's human-altered landscape, many habitats need active restoration and management to remove invasive species, restore natural processes, mitigate changes to water quality or quantity, and address other threats.
