The Details

Features

The Data Storage Team provides the following storage options for systems physically located on-premise in an EOTSS data center:

  • High speed SAN Attached volumes for AIX, HP-UX, Linux and Windows physical servers
  • Network Attached Storage (NAS) file systems and shares for file sharing between AIX, HP-UX, Linux, Windows physical servers and MassCloud virtual systems
  • FICON attached volumes for Mainframe systems

All storage includes local and remote replication capabilities for business continuity and disaster recovery.

Please note that EOTSS only provides this service to Commonwealth agencies that operate physical servers in an EOTSS data center.

Please note: Internal agency IT Liaison (ITL) approval is required in order for EOTSS to process this request.

Service Level Expectation (SLE)

SLEResponsibilities/Dependencies

Fulfillment: 

New Server: 90% within 3 business days. Note: Dependent on all physical storage/cabling being complete

Markley Data Center: 90% within 1 business day

Massachusetts Information Technology Center (MITC) or Springfield Data Center (SDC): 90% within 3 business days

More complex requests (e.g., clustered, disaster recovery replication, etc.): Due to the variable nature of these requests, fulfillment time will differ on a case-to-case basis. SLE will be communicated following the finalization of customer requirements.

Customer

  • Responsible for adhering to the EOTSS Standard Rules of Engagement.
  • Responsible for submitting accurate information to EOTSS during the intake and discovery process.
  • Sharing complete requirements will ensure that accurate SLEs are provided and met.
  • If applicable, responsible for completing all physical storage/cabling prior to fulfillment.

EOTSS

  • Responsible for coordinating discovery meeting(s) with the customer when applicable. 
  • If applicable, EOTSS will determine the appropriate SLE for the request and communicate to the customer once all requirements are collected/finalized following intake and discovery.
  • Responsible for providing storage options for systems physically located on-premise in an EOTSS data center per the customer’s requirements.
