CORI Checks
Massachusetts firearms dealers are required to perform Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) checks prior to hiring any person who has "direct and unmonitored" contact with firearms to determine the suitability of the employee.
To obtain CORI checks, you must first register as am employer in iCORI.
Important: after you have registered, you must call the DCJIS Legal Unit at 617-660-4760 to obtain the proper CORI access level.
A fee of $25 is collected for each name submitted.
Employee MIRCS Access
Employees that sell firearms must have their own MIRCS Dealer Application account. Account sharing is not permitted.
Employees must register for a MyMassGov business account before they can be onboarded in the MIRCS Dealer Application.
