What you need

- All student officers must meet the eligibility requirements.
Recruit Officer Course Acadis Registration Guide for Departments
- This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to submit a registration request at MPTC Operated Police Academies.
- All application packet requirements remain the same and may be uploaded within the MPTC Acadis Portal as part of the registration process.
- Note: The MPTC does not take registrations for MPTC authorized police academies. You must contact the MPTC Authorized Academy directly for their scheduled dates, process to apply, and tuition costs.
The requirements are:
- Must be 21 years old on or before the date of academy graduation
- Must be a full-time employee or a sponsored applicant, whether a part-time officer or not currently employed
- Pass the HRD comprehensive medical exam
- A signed Agreement and Indemnification required by all Student Officers
- A Conditional Offer of Employment or Full-time Appointment Notice for full-time officers
What to expect after submitting a registration request
- An automatic email notification will be sent confirming that the registration request has been submitted. However, this does not mean that the student is enrolled.
- Priority is given to full-time municipal, University of Massachusetts, and environmental police officers. All seats are assigned in the order in which completed registrations are received.
- Once the MPTC Recruit Officer Course Coordinators review the registration requirements and officially enrolls the student in an academy, email notification will be sent out to the student officer and Department Chief or Agency Point of Contact with enrollment confirmation and other details.

Tuition must be paid seven days prior to the Academy's start date in the form of an official agency check, certified bank check or money order.
