The MPTC is a state agency charged with providing training to municipal, University of Massachusetts and Environmental police officers throughout the Commonwealth. This training consists of both full-time recruit basic training and veteran officer training.

Doriann Ference facilitates the development of curricula, oversees the Instructor Development Program and its trainers, catalogs and disseminates current curricula for in-service, specialized, recruit and reserve basic training on behalf of the MPTC including maintenance of a library of current and past curricula and lesson plans.
Highway Safety Training
Ross Panacopoulos coordinates grant funded Highway Safety Division traffic crash investigation training and certifications on behalf of the Municipal Police Training Committee.
Don Decker is the subject matter expert who coordinates grant funded Highway Safety Division Drug Recognition Expert training and certifications for the Municipal Police Training Committee.
Steve May coordinates grant funded Highway Safety Division Standardized Field Sobriety Testing and Speed Measurement (Radar and Lidar) training and certifications on behalf of the Municipal Police Training Committee.
Instructor Certification Manager
Rose Sauvageau, with the authorization of the MPTC’s Subject Matter Experts, issues Instructor Certifications authorizing individuals to teach as an instructional trainer for the Municipal Police Training Committee and its sponsored programs (i.e. Recruit, In-Service, Specialized, Basic Reserve programs) on behalf of the MPTC.
