What you need

The Massachusetts Gun Transaction Portal is used to report all private firearms transactions in the Commonwealth, including the personal sale or transfer of a firearm, or the registration or inheritance of a firearm.  The Portal may also be used to report a firearm lost or stolen or to surrender a firearm to a local police department.

Next steps

  1. Print/save Transaction Form and Receipt

    Be sure to print or save the Firearms Transaction (EFA10) Form and receipt that is displayed once your transaction is complete. These forms can not be accessed after closing the webpage.

  2. How to update a Transaction Record

    Firearms transactions can not be changed after submitted. If you make a mistake on the transaction, you must submit a new transaction and submit a Firearms Transaction Deletion Request Form to the Firearms Records Bureau by email.
