The Details of Request a jury duty hardship transfer
What you need for Request a jury duty hardship transfer
In special circumstances, trial jurors can request a change in court location, called a hardship transfer. Grand jurors can't change court locations, since the grand jury meets in only 1 location in each county. Hardship transfers are only granted in very limited circumstances in order to keep the sample of summoned jurors random at each court. Inconvenience, time, and distance to the courthouse aren't eligible hardships.
If you're eligible for a change in court location, you may be required to appear on a different date from the original date on your summons, depending on the needs of the court. You can request a hardship transfer online or by mail.
