What you need   for Schedule an appointment to provide a DNA sample

If you are required to provide a sample of your DNA in Massachusetts, you must make an appointment by calling our DNA Hotline (888) 877-4362.

You must bring a state photo ID to your appointment. A valid ID may include:

  • Your driver's license
  • Your state ID card
  • Your passport

If you don't have a valid ID, your probation officer can give you a copy of your booking sheet.

You can only pay your sample fee through a money order made payable to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. We encourage you to pay the fee at your appointment. If you cannot pay at that time:

  • You must still come to the appointment to provide your sample

  • We will give you payment instructions at a later time

After your appointment

After your appointment, you will be given a signed and embossed receipt. You can use this receipt as proof of your DNA submission and payment.

If you live out of state, we will give you instructions on how to meet requirements during your call. If you've previously given a DNA sample to another state, you may still need to provide one for Massachusetts.
